In Nokia’s recent campaign promoting being green, a survey showed that people felt the most important topic for Nokia and the environment should be recycling. Nokia claim that every part of their devices from the battery to the buttons can be used again either for new products, or to generate energy.
They have found that despite all the old phones most of us have lying around, only three per cent of the UK population recycles their old mobile phones.
There are over one billion Nokia users and if they all recycled just one old phone, more than 80,000 tonnes of raw materials would be saved. Imagine how much more could be saved if not just Nokia, but all types of mobile phones were recycled?
