For the first time ever all five major UK mobile network providers will be carrying an Apple phone, the iPhone 4. Virgin Media have now joined O2, Vodafone, 3 and Orange in the competition for new customers wishing to get their hands on the iPhone 4. It looks like a bidding war could take place, which is good news for consumers.
The international roll-out is to be begin on Thursday the 24th June and so far 3 has announced that it will begin accepting pre-orders tomorrow, on the 15th of June.
The networks are finally beginning to release details of their price plans with Vodafone announcing this afternoon (Monday) that the 16GB iPhone 4 will retail for £189 on an 18 month contract for £30 a month, whilst the 32GB iPhone 4 will retail for £280 on a £30 a month contract.
O2 have confirmed that it will allow current iPhone customers to upgrade to the iPhone 4 but a £20 fee will be levied against every remaining month on the contract.
More details are sure to follow shortly with the other main providers announcing their price plans.
The prices certainly don’t appear to be cheap though so many consumers may want to consider selling their old mobile to put the funds towards the long-awaited iPhone 4.
